Ron Heidary:  Co-Varsity Head Coach [email protected]

Twenty-seven years of "rec" coaching (ten County Championships).  Ron is Co-Head Coach and Founder of Orinda Aquatics.  Ron was voted Pacific Swimming age-group Coach of the Year in 1998, NCS Honor Coach in 2005, and California Coaches' Association High School Swimming Coach of the Year in 2006.  Under Ron and Don's guidance, OA has won Junior National and Far Western Championships and many of his swimmers have ranked among the best in the United States.  This will be Ron's 26th year coaching high school aquatics:  6 years at Pinole Valley coaching varsity swimming and water polo and 19 years at Campolindo coaching swimming.  Campolindo, under Ron, has won 14 North Coast titles, 5 women and 9 men.  Ron is a 1984 graduate of UC Berkeley with a major in economics.

 

John Studebaker:  Co-Varsity Head Coach, Jr. Varsity Support [email protected]

John graduated Campolindo High School in 2004.  He then went to California State University, Sacramento where he received a BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in physical education and concentration in adapted physical education in 2010.  While at Sacramento State, John was a member of the men's rowing team for 4 years.  During the school year you can find John teaching Physical Education at all 3 elementary school in Moraga.  John has been coaching swimming at Moraga Country Club for the past 12 years.  He has also coached with the Orinda Aquatics high school pre-season group the past 4 years, as well as the Polar Bear Program.  This will be John's 6th season coaching at Campolindo.  In John's time at Campolindo, the men's team has won 3 North Coast titles.  John has also helped oversee the success of the JV program for the past 3 years.

Matt  Armanini: Assistant Coach

Matt returns to the Campo High School staff this season. He was an Asst. Head Varsity Coach in 2008 and 2009, helping the Campo boys capture back-to-back NCS titles. Prior to that, he spent 6 years coaching Miramonte High School Swimming (JV and Varsity) and was also the Head JV Men’s Water Polo coach there for two seasons before focusing fully on swimming. At the rec level, Matt was the Asst. Head Coach at MCC for 7 years, head coach at CCC for two years, and is now entering his third year as the Head Coach and Program Director for Meadow Swim Team. He is also the SR 3 Coach for Orinda Aquatics, working with many Campo High School swimmers. Matt holds a Level 3 NISCA certification from ASCA and is also a member of the World Swim Coaches’ Association. Matt holds a B.A. in Political Science with minors in Communications and History from Purdue University and a Single Subject Social Science teaching credential from St. Mary’s College.
