HSL Championships
We are so excited for the HSL Championships this weekend!!
Here are a few more last minute updates/details. (Note --- all the previous information sent out is included at the end of this email/news.)
Warmups
Arena STARZ – Please see below for your scheduled to arrive to the pools as well as your warmup times.
All Events / Swims are set.
No deck entries permitted.
There will be no changes to the meet (no switching events, etc.)
Podium Ceremonies
12 and Unders will have podium ceremonies. (The meet pauses between events to announce awards and call swimmers up to the podium.)
13 and Overs – No Podium Ceremony. (However, awards can be picked up and swimmers can stand behind their place number for pictures / selfies.)
Breaks Inserted into Timeline
Breaks have been inserted into the Timelines. These are approximations and may change as needed throughout the session.
Cool Down (or warm ups right before events)
The are no lanes available for warmups or cool downs right before events (like during some year round meets.)
Start Times
These are approximations ONLY. There are many times the meet runs ahead of schedule. Please do not DEPEND on the time listed in the Meet Program.
Coaches Relays
These will happen at the end of Session 1 after the last medal ceremony (Breaststroke) at Fountain Green.
Coaches need to be warmed up, behind the blocks, and ready to go for the Coaches Relays.
After Coaches Relays, the 6&U Back Stroke will start.
Relay Set Breaks (Saturday)
This has been put into the timeline to help in getting relays in place.
Warm-up times and lanes assignments
These are posted below and will be posted around the facility.
These are assigned by session and team and posted on the STARZ website, as well as HSL website.
(See below for STARZ specific times.)
TIMERS
Timer’s meetings take place 30 MINUTES BEFORE EACH SESSION START TIME.
2nd Half Timers -- Even if you are a 2nd half timer, you MUST attend the Timer’s Meeting!
2nd Half Timers -- There will not be a break to change out timers. So, please FIND OUT when the switch out is and make sure that you are in place and ready to go if you are a 2nd half timer.
1st half timers – Do NOT leave until your replacement has arrived!!!!!!
Coaches Hospitality –
Hospitality is light snacks at FG and AB.
During Session 2, at the Arena Club, you will be provided a ticket that enables you to a combo meal at concessions.
Food Delivery –
There is to be NO personal food delivery to any of the 3 sites.
ALL PERSONAL FOOD DELIVERIES WILL BE TURNED AWAY!!!!
(Reminder – this is also a fundraiser for the swim teams.)

Shirts – HSL CHAMP SHIRTS –
These will be available on site at ALL SESSIONS!
Both Cash and Card are accepted.
Design will be posted to the HSL Website.
Officials –
If you are an Official and would like to Officiate, please register via the Form (See below).
There will not be walk in officials.
As mentioned earlier we will use USA DQ slips to notify you of DQ's and DQ codes will be entered in the database and put on the meet info.
Session 1 – Fountain Green
There is no assigned team seating.
Teams may spread out and stake their claim that morning.
Bring your own shade.
Gates will open for Meet participants at 6:40 AM.
Following the directions of the Parking Attendants.
Concessions will be Cash and Venmo.
Session 2 – Arena Club
Seating will be assigned in the indoor court area which is where the clerk of course will be.
Outdoor seating is open.
No Tents around the Lap Pool
Bathrooms:
Athletes - locker rooms only
Non-athletes - in the indoor court area
(signs will be posted)
Gates Open at 3:45.
Please park at Regent's Furniture and take the short walk down the access road.
Concessions will be Cash and Card.
Session 3 - Aberdeen
Carpool when possible.
All Parking will be grass parking except for Officials and Handicap.
Please follow the directions of the parking attendants.
Gates will Open for meet participants.
Teams will have assigned seating areas in the grass and may bring shade to set up between 5:30-8 PM on Saturday or bring the day of.
Gates open for participants in the meet at 6:15 AM.
Clerk of Course for 25 Yard events will be near the bulkhead that swimmers will dive off of. Longer events will have a clerk of course by the blocks.
Coaches will NOT be permitted on the bulkhead.
The Shallow end will have some limited opening for warm-up and cool down during the meet. Playing in the pool is NOT permitted!
Concessions will be Cash and Card Menu and price list and menu is attached.

Meet Notice -- Please click on link below and read through the Meet Notice.
Does your swimmer swim on Saturday or Sunday?
The Sun morning session is at Aberdeen and is for the top 18 entered for each event. It is possible to be ranked 25th for an event, and end up swimming Sun based off of who signs up for each event.
Sat is for all other swimmers seeded 19th or above who are entered into champs. Sat morning is for 10&U's outside the top 18 at Fountain Green. And Sat evening is at the Arena Club for 11&O's outside the top 18.
It is possible to have some events Sat, and some Sun. There is no way to guarentee a day unless you enter events your child is already ranked in the top 18, which would mean they are Sun is this example.

Cost
There is an entry fee associated with the Championship Meet. It is $5.00 per event.
How to Pay for the Meet Fees
To ensure that your Swimmer is NOT pulled from the championship meet, the meet fees MUST BE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE.
SQUARE - The square will be available on Wednesday, at the Banquet. You will incur a $1.00 service charge for this easy method.
Arena Club STARZ Website – If you have a Credit Card on file, you will receive an invoice and your credit card will be charged the Entry Fees at that time.
* You will incur a $2.00 service charge for this easy method.
** If you do NOT have a Credit Card on file, but wish to be billed this way, please put a credit card on file by Monday, 7/17/2023 – 12:00 PM (NOON).
Check or Cash – Put into ACA BOX – located on the wall just inside Coach Brad’s office
- Place your money in an envelope
- Checks – made out to Arena Club STARZ
- Outside of envelope, write “HSL Entry Fees”
- Drop it into the ACA BOX that is located just inside Coach Brad’s office

FAQ -- How can I buy the HSL CHAMP T-Shirt????
Answer – Metro Swim will be at each Session doing shirts. There are no pre-orders.
