Meet #4 Ridgetop at KRA - Please Read!
GOOD MORNING FIREFISH FAMILIES!
We are looking forward to hosting the Ridgetop Riptide swimmers and their families tomorrow evening for our fourth swim meet of the 2024 season! There are MANY FUN things taking place prior to the start of this meet (Team Photo & KRA Senior Recognition), so please read carefully and refer to the timeline below. You will be hearing from Coach James later today with your swimmer’s events for tomorrow evening. Definitely check email tomorrow for any last-minute changes and the heat sheet.
SWIM MEET DETAILS
Check-In & Team Photo: Swimmers should arrive by 4:45 pm and double check the events board you when arrive at the pool. The events will be posted near the front entrance along with volunteer nametags (see attached map). We will be taking the 2024 team photo promptly at 5:00 pm wearing the 2024 Firefish t-shirts.
Pre-Meet Timeline of Events:
4:45 pm – Firefish Swimmers Arrive & Check-in (please be on time)
5:00 pm – Firefish Team Photo – wear 2024 Firefish T-shirt for the picture!!!
5:15-5:20 pm – 10 & Unders Warm-up *see info below
5:20-5:30 pm - 11 & Olders Warm-up
5:30 pm – KRA First Half Volunteers Check-in
5:35 pm - Firefish Team Cheer (diving well)
5:45 pm – S&T and Lane Timer Meeting (see map)
5:50–6:00 pm – KRA Senior Recognition
6:00 pm – Meet Begins!!!
FIREFISH WARM-UPS:
5:15-5:20 PM - 10 & Unders warm up*
- *ONLY 8 & Unders swimming in the FREE relay (event #2) should attend warm-ups
- Mini-Mites swimming in their first meet tonight DO NOT need to warm-up
5:20-5:30 PM - 11 & Olders warm up
Please be on time for warm-ups and ready to jump in the water at 5:15/5:20 sharp! We want to maximize the short amount of time we have, so have caps on, goggles on, etc.!
This meet is going to be a scorcher so please bring LOTS of water, gatorade, snacks, games, chairs, and extra towels. Please come prepared!
First-Half Volunteers: are asked to check-in no later than 5:30 PM by grabbing their name tag. 2nd Half volunteers should check-in no later than 7:45 PM. *Lane Timers and Strokes & Turn Officials will have a meeting at 5:45 PM at the back of the competition pool (see attached map).
Firefish T-Shirts: All registered swimmers receive a 2024 Firefish T-Shirt with their registration fees. If you haven't done so already, please pick-up your t-shirt from your family ribbon folder. We would like swimmers in the 2024 Firefish T-Shirt for the team picture.
Parking: As you know, the parking lot gets crowded, so you are welcome to use the field for additional parking. To access the field lot you will need to pass the main Kanawha entrance on your left and keep going until you see a gravel driveway on your left. Turn into the gravel driveway to access the field parking you will be able to access the pool through the field gate.
Food: We have a variety of food options available during home swim meets. In addition to our regular snack bar iems, the snack bar will be offering Christian's Pizza by the slice (cheese & pepperoni) and Chick-fil-A 8 count nuggets and chicken sandwiches. Our friends at Kona Ice will also have a truck at the swim meet. Please remember the KRA snack bar cash and Paypal only.
LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS! The list is almost full, but we still need a few more volunteers to make this second home meet a success! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has already signed up. For those willing and able to help fill in the last few jobs, please go to our website at www.kraswimteam.com and sign-up for an opening. We cannot run a meet without all the jobs covered and we do not want to hold up the meet walking around deck trying to fill these spots. Please consider taking a second half spot if you have older swimmers.
Inclement Weather (Important): In the case of inclement weather, we ask that swimmers and parents clear the pool. Guests are asked to wait in their cars until a determination can be made. We are required to follow the JRAC rule book in the event of inclement weather.
Management Please and Thank You: Please ask your swimmers to avoid the tennis courts and note that our other pools are closed throughout the durations of the swim meet.
