Beaver Buzz- Updates for the Week

Heather Dury

Hello Beaver Families,

It’s hard to believe, but the summer swim season is almost over—and Champs is just a few weeks away! We’ll be sharing important updates over the next few weeks to help you prepare, and as always, please don't hesitate to reach out to any board member with questions about the event.

A few quick reminders for this week:

  • There will be NO practice on the 4th of July, but we hope you’ll join us in the Carmichael Parade (details below).
  • Thursday's practice will be a Family Fun Night from 6:00–7:30 PM—come ready for games and a great time!
  • We’re still collecting Swim-A-Thon donations—please turn in all funds by Wednesday, July 3rd to count toward prizes.
  • Fall swim clinic information will be coming soon—stay tuned for details!

Let’s finish the season strong, Beavers!

🎇 4th of July Parade

We’re excited to represent the Beavers in this year’s Carmichael 4th of July Parade—swimmers and their families are all welcome to walk with us! (Flyer attached for reference)

Meeting Location:

Milagro Centre

Meeting Time: 9:00 AM (if you’d like to help decorate the float, come as early as 8 AM)

Parade Details:

  • Parade kicks off at 10:30 AM at Fair Oaks & Marconi
  • Ends at the Carmichael Elks Lodge (5631 Cypress Ave)
  • Pick-up for children (if not walking the whole route) will be at the Elks Lodge
  • The route is approximately 2 miles long

What to Wear & Bring:

Wear Beavers gear or festive red, white, and blue attire, and be sure to dress in light, comfortable clothing and walking shoes—it will be hot. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Swimmers should bring hard candy to hand out along the route (please refrain from throwing from the float or truck for safety reasons). Squirt guns and water sprayers are also encouraged—we’ll have buckets of water available for refills along the way.

Float & Fun:

We’ll have a trailer “float” for some swimmers to sit on, but everyone should be prepared to walk. Scooters and bikes are welcome; however, helmets are required, and riders are responsible for their equipment at all times.

Parent Help Needed:

We’d love for parents to walk with us! While you’re welcome to drop off and pick up your swimmer, we can’t do this without your help—please join us on the route if you can!

Post-Parade Pool Time:

The Carmichael Elks Lodge pool will be open after the parade, and families are welcome to hop in and hang out!

Let’s show our Beaver pride and make this 4th of July unforgettable!
