Coach’s Message
Aloha fellow rat families,
Quick thank you to all for making this the best job in the world! Our coaches truly love every day spent with the kids. Crazy that this season is already beginning to close in on our Conference Meet!
Please, make sure to declare your swimmer for Conference. We have a big army… when everyone actually shows up! Conference is our biggest meet of the entire season, plus we are excited to represent our theme: Luck of the Rats!
Coming up in just one week, we have our Extreme Week, otherwise known as Hell Week! Practices will be very hard, so please make sure your kids have water and eat breakfast before showing up to the pool.
With only four meets left until conference meet, it is time to lock in on our personal goals. Please, encourage your swimmers to acknowledge their individual goals at home! We are excited to help the kids achieve their goals, and finish off the season with success.
One thing to note. Parents: don’t be afraid to cheer! Please, look out for some new team cheers this coming week and don’t hesitate to join the team meeting as a parent. We can use all of the positive energy that we can get. Everyone is welcome!

Declare for Conference
All swimmers must declare in or out for Conference by July 11th. This is a hard-deadline as we have lots to organize – meet entries, tuck-ins, jobs, and more.

Rudgear Idol
Rudgear Idol is coming soon (7/26) – a star-studded talent show featuring our very own RATS! Keep your eyes out at the pool to sign up for the show and encourage your swimmers to participate!
Lice
LICE: every parent’s least-favorite four-letter word. We have been informed that lice has been going around Murwood Keyspot and obviously our team has a lot of crossover with them. So, we are asking that everyone please check their swimmers for lice.
If you find that your swimmer has lice, please keep them home until they have completed treatment.

Lessons
Lessons are available! We post all the coach’s sign-up links on our website (click here); however, it is the coaches’ responsibility to update their sign-ups (usually on Sundays or Mondays), set prices, receive payment, etc.
We have a lot of swimmers on our team, so please be considerate when booking lessons. We don't want one swimmer having three lessons per week and another left with none.
Please note: Swimmers may only sign up for one lesson per week with Coach Nick. Also, only team swimmers should sign up for Coach Nick lessons; Rugrats and other non-team swimmers are encouraged to sign up with any of our assistant coaches.
Coach Lunch
We have a great tradition of keeping our coaches at Rudgear fed! Please sign up here to bring our coaches lunch one day this summer. (We have EIGHT coaches this season, so we encourage you to team up with another family.)
