IMPORTANT REMINDERS
⭐️ It’s the last week of the season! This newsletter contains tons of important info on this week and Champs so please read carefully. We have a lot of fun things happening during practice “spirit week” so check it out below!
🍝 Pasta Dinner is on Thursday evening after practice (6pm) AT THE WICKLIFFE SENIOR CENTER. We will provide pasta, salad, and paper products. Please bring your own drinks. If you want to bring a little dessert to share, that would be great! We will also have a tie dye station so bring a white shirt, socks, bandana, or whatever you want to tie dye in Water Devil blue and yellow! We can wear our new tie dye gear to Champs this weekend.
🅿️ If you won the raffle to purchase a parking pass at Champs, please make sure to get payment to a board member this week or pay through VENMO @WickliffeWaterDevils-Wickliffe
Champs info is below. We are able to set up (the WWD tent area) on Friday evening, and will share times for this after the SSL Champs meeting. We will be getting a Champs Info Packet early this week from SSL and will send it out to you by Wednesday evening. You can find preliminary times and parking info below. KEEP READING!!
📸 You can still order photos online through MK Photography.

CHAMPS Spirit Week Schedule
🛟 Tuesday- Bring a floatie (if you have one) to practice! We will be doing some fun relays to prep for Champs during practice today.
💕 Wednesday- “On Wednesdays, we wear pink.”
Pink suit, pink cap, pink goggles, whatever you have!
Also, it’s Drag Day! Grab an extra suit, a shirt, some pj pants, or whatever you want to add on top of your suit to create extra drag in the water. Swimmers will “drag the extra weight” during a fun warm up session, then take it all off and feel FAST in the water!
🎩 Thursday- It's an ABC warmup! Wear Anything But a Cap for warmups today. We will get out of the water early to make posters for Champs. We will provide poster boards and markers- bring your creativity and any other supplies you might want.
🥞 Friday- It’s Pancake Day! Practice will end early so you can enjoy a pancake breakfast! We will have pancakes (and syrup) and OJ...and we are looking for some parents to bring a spatula, electric griddle, and a willingness to cook some pancakes during practice on this morning. If you can help out, please email: [email protected].

SSL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET
Date: Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th
Location: Lyndhurst Pool 1331 Parkview Dr. Lyndhurst, OH 44124
Arrival Time: 6:40am
Warm Up: 7:10am-7:30am (lanes 1-4)
Meet Start Time: 8:30am
We will send out more Champs info and a map of the meet area later this week.
Other Info: Make sure your swimmer knows what Clerk of Course is! The Champs Info Packet should be available to us early this week and we will send it out to you ASAP. Until then, coaches, board members, and veteran parents are happy to explain COC (and any other Champs questions) as it is an important feature of Champs.
The Lyndhurst Pool has two adjacent parking lots, each of which will be permit only lots. As shown on the map, Lyndhurst Park will serve as “tent city”, and the Lyndhurst City Hall lot will provide additional permit-only parking. Permit parking lots will open at 6am each morning. A state-issued handicap parking placard or license plate will be required to use handicap parking, available in the Parkview lot.
A majority of attendees will be required to park on side streets, and are expected to do so in accordance with city parking laws. The decision to park in violation of city laws is done at the driver’s risk, with illegally parked vehicles subject to towing at owner’s expense. Ken’s Auto Service (440-442-0166) is utilized by the City of Lyndhurst. A drop off zone will be located on the north end of the City Hall Lot, next to tent city, as detailed in the map.
Please make sure your swimmer has a navy blue suit and the yellow WWD team cap. If your swimmer has lost/ripped their cap, we have extras available for $8 (Venmo: @WickliffeWaterDevils-Wickliffe)
