Hi Stingrays!

Congratulations on our win against Crofton yesterday! Another hot and muggy meet, but what a great day and thanks so much to all our parent volunteers. Below includes more updates, along with reminders about events mentioned last week. Continue to pay close attention to all our emails as our season moves forward.

WAVERLY WOODS HOME MEET (this Saturday, July 13^th)

Sign up and declare by Tuesday at 8pm. Warmups will be at 8am, but plan to be there and check in with a coach by 7:45am. As always, we reserve the parking lot for the visiting team, so please park on the street. We will begin setting up for the meet Friday evening at 7pm until we finish and again at 7:15am on Saturday morning. We would appreciate any help we can get from our team parents and older swimmers! Service hours are available for all rising sixth graders and older.

Concession signups are open. We have lots of yummy ingredients to make yummy breakfast and lunch items – thanks to EVERYONE who brought items last week. It was a hit! And a very special thanks to George Svejda and family for the delish pulled pork. A team favorite for sure.

OTHER UPCOMING MEETS & EVENTS

Chipotle Fundraiser

Don’t forget to pick up your Chipotle this Wednesday, July 10^th! Between 4-8pm 25% of event sales will be donated to the Westminster Stingrays. Order online for pickup using code WNFH7RP.

CCI (July 17^th, South Carroll Country Club)

There will be no practice this day! Lessons will continue as planned for the morning, but evening practices will be moved to Friday, July 19^th.

Please make sure you’ve completed your swimmer’s registration in Team Unify by 7:15pm Monday, July 8^th (tomorrow). Entry limit is 4 events and is open to all swimmers. Sign up the same way you do for dual meets, but this time you select your swimmer’s events (we will charge your account $5 for each event). Warmups will begin at 3pm and the meet starts at 4:30pm.

CCI shirts are still available – orders are due by July 10^th for pick up at the meet. Please use discount code 2024CCI for free shipping for event pick up. There is also a box where swimmers will need to list their Team for sorting purposes.

**Families who attend any optional meet are expected to complete one more volunteer point at one of the optional meets.

*Note: Per CMSL, CCI times do not count for Straehle qualifying.

Splash and Dash (July 19^th, Stingrays Home Pool)

Keep promoting this super fun (open to the public!) event – our second annual and a great fundraiser for our team. This event also replaces Friday morning practice! You can register here. The cost is $13 for city residents/pool members and $20 for non-residents/non-pool members. There are 3 different options to accommodate everyone’s fitness level.   

Junior Championships (July 22^nd, Westminster Riding Club)

This is a fun meet open to all swimmers who have not qualified for an individual event at Straehle. Warmups will be at 3pm and the meet starts at 4pm. Registration is open now until July 17^th, at the end of CCI. Each event is $5 and swimmers 8 and under are limited to 3 events while swimmers 9 and over are eligible for up to 4 events. We will charge your account – no need to worry about sending in cash or check.

T-shirts can be ordered here. Unfortunately, we have a quick turnaround, and orders are due by tomorrow, July 8^th, by 7:15pm. Shirts are $25 each (and we’ll charge your account).

Please note: swimmers who have been on a qualified relay but have not qualified for individual events are eligible to participate in this meet.

**Families who attend any optional meet are expected to complete one more volunteer point at one of the optional meets.

Panda Express Fundraiser

Tuesday, July 23^rd – mark your calendars for another fundraiser! The great part is that this works for any Panda Express nationwide, so share with all your friends, family and social media contacts. 28% of all proceeds will go to us, just let them know that you’d like to support the Westminster Stingrays Swim Team. Straehle (July 24^th, Andover Pool)

Sign-ups are live for Straehle and are due by the end of the CCI meet on July 17^th. We will accept registration for those swimmers who qualify at our 7/20 meet, with those due by the end of that meet. Warmups start at 7am, the meet starts at 9am, and relays are slated to start at noon. The address is 819 Main Ave., Linthicum Heights, MD, 21090. Entries are $5 per individual event, and we will charge your account.

T-shirt pre-orders are available now and are due July 16^th to be available for pickup at the meet. Limited quantities will be available that day.

This optional meet is open to swimmers that have made the Straehle qualifying times (found here). While this includes relays, when we create our relay teams for Straehle and Divisional meets, we base our selections off two main things: the top four times in the age group and whether they were on a qualifying relay. Essentially, swimmers must have been on a relay that qualified for the meet, or they are not eligible to swim at the Straehle meet. However, just being on a qualifying relay does not necessarily guarantee that your swimmer will be swimming at the Straehle meet. We will keep an updated list of all qualifiers as we go through the season.

**All families who have swimmer(s) participating in Straehle are expected to volunteer. 

Divisional Championships (July 27^th, South Carroll Country Club)

Sign-ups are live for Divisionals – please commit your swimmer if they are available, even if you don’t think they have top times. Coaches will make the final line-up and pick the top 3 available swimmers for each event. More information will follow soon.

**Families who attend this optional meet are expected to volunteer outside of their regular season volunteer requirements.

End of Year Banquet (July 27^th, Westminster City Pool)

More information will be coming soon, but wanted to make sure everyone has it on their calendar!
