Owls Repeat as Middle School & High School Champions
The Lower School swim team repeated as County Champions on Friday night, followed by Upper School winning their 5th straight Shelby County Championship on Saturday.
Led by individual wins from Parker Kaye (100 yard freestyle), Christian Berry (50 yard freestyle), and Jack McCaghren (200 yard freestyle), the Lower School Owls took care of business scoring 382 points with the next closest team having 210.
Christian Berry and Jack McCaghren broke Shelby County records in their efforts.
The Upper School did well in a close contest with MHEA, winning the men's division 579-541. The Owls' depth shined bright as always, with only Pace Clark winning his two individual events. MUS regularly placed 3 swimmers in the Top 10 of each event to score big points and come out with the victory.
Pace Clark broke 2 Shelby County records in the 50 yard Backstroke (23.09) and the 100 yard Butterfly (49.23, formerly held by 2008 Olympian Gil Stovall)
The next swim meet is February 8-9 in Knoxville for the State Championship.
