Owls Capture 7th at State Championship
One year later, the Owls moved up one spot at the Tennessee State High School Championships.
Seven school records were broken this weekend as the Upper School fought hard for their 7th place spot. Senior Pace Clark became the first State Champion in MUS history with a 100 yard butterfly swim of 47.37 on Friday night. Clark also took 2nd in the 100 yard backstroke the next evening.
Nedas Jakstas (2013) had the meet of his life, dropping huge chunks of time from his lifetime bests to qualify for Finals in the 200 yard Individual Medley and 100 yard Breaststroke.
Thornton Brooksbank (100 yard freestyle) and Sherman Tabor (50 yard freestyle) also qualified for Finals. The Owls had six individual swims at night, a first in team history.
All 3 relays broke school records and scored points for MUS with the 200 yard Medley Relay placing 4th, the 200 yard Freestyle Relay taking 9th, and the 400 yard Freestyle Relay finishing 7th.
