A Ton of New Personal Bests Highlight CST's Spring Sprint Spectacle Meet
Carib Swim Team members achieved an incredible 107 new personal bests on Sunday, out of 123 swims. This calculates to an incredible 87% best times! And many of these were huge drops! These numbers don’t include relay lead-offs, which added some more personal bests.
Super Splash Swim Team attended, making this the first meet in over a year for Carib Swim Team that wasn’t an intra-squad meet.
Highlights included new team records for Joey Schvartz (11 year old) 100 freestyle (1:07.75) and 100 backstroke (1:17.01), and Matias Piazza (13 year old) 100 butterfly (1:07.76).
New ‘A’ times were achieved by Aiyana Bourne (100 breast) and Joey Schvartz (200 IM).
Several new ‘BB’ times were achieved by Adaya Bourne (200 IM), Aiyana Bourne (100 IM), Arianna Lont (100 free), Emma Szabo (50 breast), Adriaan Copplemans (100 free, 100 back, and 100 breast), Matias Piazza (100 back and 100 breast), Joey Schvartz (100 back), and Chris de Wilde (100 back).
Finally, new ‘B’ times were achieved by Aiyana Bourne, Louise Creusot, Arianna Lont, Emma Szabo, Sacha Tobias, Quentin Guyenot, Nico Piazza, Kjeld Van Der Meer, and Daan Vinke.
In addition to these swimmers, event winners included Gigi Cai, Diego Ramos, Darina Smirnova, Cato de Wilde, Luuk Vinke, Anna de Wilde, Yu Yu Cai, Lennox Van Kooten, Philip Chang Sing Pang, Lucas Berman, Patrick Szabo, Amia President, Liam Van Kooten, Nikki Grandtner, Nihal Chugani, Laeticia Martin, Caithlyn Challenger, Abbi Illis, and Tatiana Penuela.
CST’s next meet will be May 23rd, followed by the first Sint Maarten Aquatic Federation championship meet on June 26-27th.
