Fast Times for CST at the 2021 Fall Pentathlon

Carib Swim Team used the sprint opportunities that the second annual Fall Pentathlon provided to their advantage, with tons of best times, new time standards, and a few new team records!

The pentathlon format works a bit different than most meets, in that instead of awarding each event, all five events are added together. The swimmer with the fastest cumulative time wins the award. Another difference is that swimmers only compete agains swimmers their own age, as opposed to age groups.

Here are the 2021 Pentathlon champions:

Congratulations to the champions, but also to the following swimmers who achieved new time standards:

New 'B' times were achieved by Maryella Baker (100 IM), D'Anka Burgan (50 fly), Caithlyn Challenger (100 IM), Luise Creusot (50 back), Jaylyn Martiens (50 breast), Nihal Chugani (50 fly), and Nico Piazza (100 IM).

Swimmers who made new 'BB' times include Maryella Baker (50 free and 50 fly), Gigi Cai (50 fly and 100 IM), Denecia Prince (100 IM), Nico Piazza (50 fly), and Kjeld Van Der Meer (50 breast and 100 IM).

Finally, we had a couple new 'A' times, Aiyana Bourne in 50 breast, and Joey Schvartz in 100 IM. 

Lastly, four CST swimmers combined for six new team records! Joey Schvartz (11 years) broke records in 50 back (35.08) and 100 IM (1:15.93). Adaya Bourne reset the 100 IM record with a 1:19.46. Arianna Lont, doing her best impression of a sprinter, achieved new marks in 50 back (36.82) and 50 fly (37.45). Last, but not least, Matias Piazza rebroke his own 50 fly mark at 28.73.
