Carib Swimmers Highlight Caribbean Gems Elementary School Meet
Carib Swim Team, along with long time sponsor Caribbean Gems, hosted the annual Elementary School Interscholastic Meet after a two year COVID related hiatus.
Learning Unlimited came out on top with 393 points, followed by CIA Montessori with 367 points, and St. Dominic Primary School with 337 points. Sister Regina won the Spirit Award.
Carib Swim Team swimmers, competing for their schools, did very well for them. In all, CST earned 20 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 5 bronze medals for their schools.
These swimmers were event winners at the meet: Aiyana Bourne, Kjeld Van Der Meer, Natalia Mullen, Caleb Deher, Yuyu Cai, Carly Critchlow, Liam Van Kooten, Daan Vinke, Luuk Vinke, Daphne Vliegen, Phillip Chang Sing Pang, Amia President, Declan Boyd, Caithlyn Challenger, Sahana Rinker, and Lucas Berman.
Some new time standards were achieved by CST swimmers. Yuyu Cai (50 back), Rylan Benjamin (50 breast), Liam Van Kooten (50 back), and Daan Vinke (100 free) swam new ‘B’ times. Caithlyn Challenger earned a new ‘BB’ time in 50 free. Finally, Kjeld Van Der Meer achieved his first ‘A’ time in 100 free.
