Personal bests and team records were aplenty at the annual Carib Swim Team Sweetheart Classic, this year sponsored for the first time by Marine Management and Consulting. Local teams Super Splash Swim Team, Dolphins Swim Team, and host Carib Swim Team all enjoyed success.

For Carib Swim Team, this came with four new team records. Saphir Thomas, 14 years, smashed the age-group team record in the 400 free, clocking in at 4:58.22. Joey Schvartz broke three team records for his age, with a 4:38.37 in 400 free, 1:08.34 in 100 back, and 2:28.50 in 200 back.

There were a bunch of new time standards met. New ‘B’ times were achieved by Shaniqua Schladt (400 free), Julia Vriezen (50 free, 50 back, 50 fly, and 100 IM), Rylan Benjamin (50 free and 100 IM), Nihal Chugani (100 free and 200 free), Kjeld Van Der Meer (100 breast and 200 IM), Daan Vinke (200 IM0 and Pepijn Vriezen (200 free and 400 free).

New ‘BB’ times were made by Adaya Bourne (200 breast), Aiyana Bourne (200 free and 400 IM), Gigi Cai (200 breast), Caithlyn Challenger (100 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM), Declan Boyd (50 back), and Daan Vinke (100 free). Joey Schvartz’s 200 free was a new ‘A’ time.

Other event winners were Nikki Grandtner (CST), Jayden Helsdingen (SSST), Yoshka Martinez (CST), Tye Hartgers (SSST), Xam Hartgers (SSST), Charlotte Challenger (CST), Darina Smirnova (CST), Naima Cocks (SSST), Emma Croes (SSST), Hunter Radican (CST), Tavare Green (CST), Juan Febres-Gonzalez (SSST), Nigel Fontenelle (DST), Nathanieal Labady (SSST), Yuyu Cai (CST), Maik Croes (SSST), Anais Callen (SSST), Samara Tjin-Asjoe (SSST), Hugo Petit (CST), and Emmbriel Flander (DST).
