Weekly News: Last time trial week
Hello to all Panther Swimmers,
We have two more events before the end of our training for the year. This week we have 115 swimmers competing on Wednesday for the “Beat the Heat” time trials. Then the following week we have our year end party/family and friends’ relays and our small awards ceremony to finish off.
The last week of school is going to be a bit of challenge as we will drain our main 50 m pool for the instillation of our new pool lining and decking around the pool. This starts on Friday night June 9th. We need to take a week at this end to ensure that we are finished for the start of school in August. It is going to look amazing.
So normally we do not have swimming the last week of school, but with all the heat issues this year we will have make up swims during the last week. The schedule will look like this from Monday, June 12th to Thursday, June 8th:
5:45am-7:00am (MS and HS at the 25m pool)
2:40-3:40 (regular Pre-k to grade 2 at 25m pool)
3:40-4:40 (4:00 pm Pre-k to grade 2 at 25m pool)
4:40-5:40 (2:40 pm Grade 3-5 that was at 50m, now at 25m pool)
We apologize for the changes, but the only other option is to have no swimming at all, so we will do our best.
Important Notes:
Reminder: Bad news for summer swimming:
Our attempt to have our first ever summer swimming program is now canceled due to construction all around the 25m pool and complete shutdown of 50m pool (full renovations of pool liner and pool decking surrounding pool).
We are just too unsure of what shape the area around the small pool will be in. We are already overloaded with construction dust and noise pollution. So sorry to those that were excited to take part.
June 8th Year-end awards party and family fun relays:
This is our big party of the year. We will do the family/friends/coaches relays after school at the 50m pool and then have some eats and our awards in the NSC gym.
Here is our schedule of the day:
3:00-4:00 family fun relays
4:00 to 4:30 time to eat (we will have taco buffet for children only)
4:30 to 5:15 we will have awards in the NSC gym
