Deep Freeze 2025!

Patrick Collins

The coaches can’t believe it, but another amazing Deep Freeze has come and gone! It was truly wonderful to see so many of our swimmers race their hearts out and cheer on their friends, all while being supportive teammates. All of the coaches were impressed by how well our team raced and more importantly, how confident the swimmers seemed behind the blocks. The kids spent many weeks preparing for this and good stroke technique and race strategy were key, with many swimmers shaving seconds off their times in events they swam just a few weeks ago!

Congratulations to our new Silvers, States, and SunKissed qualifiers and an extra shout out to Jules McGrath who qualified for YMCA Long Course Nationals in the 200 Backstroke!

THANK YOU to the many SAY families who so generously donated their time in different capacities to help us run an efficient meet! It takes a village to keep the spirit of hospitality and volunteerism on this team alive and your time and dedication to our program is very much appreciated. We hosted 428 total swimmers from six visiting teams and without this support, we would not be able to successfully host a meet like this. I received many compliments from coaches and officials. Everything from the food in hospitality and concessions, to keeping the meet on the timeline was mentioned.

THANK YOU to our coaching staff for their continued dedication to our swimmers and this team. The energy level at the meet is a direct result of our coaches getting the kids excited to swim fast!

THANK YOU to our YMCA staff who worked throughout the day to check-in spectators and keep our facility clean and safe during the meet.

An extra shout out to...

  • OUR GRADUATING SENIORS! (see attached picture) Thank you families and swimmers for celebrating our senior class at their last Deep Freeze! I am truly proud of all of them.

  • Michelle Moon our volunteer coordinator! She has done a tremendous job and will be missed

  • Jodelle Devaney for running her first Deep Freeze concessions and hospitality!

  • Jack Dwyer our officials coordinator and all our officials for keeping the meet running smoothly!

  • Dave Knecht, Amy Roselle, and Kristen Kline who have officiated for years and given countless hours to this team.

  • Lydia Wong for creating the Senior slide show and her hours behind the scenes assisting the coaching staff
