2025 JAG Championship Recap: A Resounding Success!

The 2025 SCS June Age Group Championships (JAG) was an absolute triumph for MAX! Despite the long sessions – with some morning prelims events like Raylan’s 400 and 800 free extending until 3:00ish in the afternoon – and the hot weather, our swimmers brought the heat! Their incredible performances and numerous personal bests made waves, demonstrating how all their hard work and dedication paid off. The energy was electric throughout the meet. Congratulations to all our amazing MAX swimmers!

  • 2025: 10 individual qualifiers; 6 relay events

Relay Team Triumphs - Our 15 swimmers/3 relay teams truly shone at JAG:

  • Strength and Dedication: Special recognition goes to Alanis Sandoval. Amidst the tough personal loss of her grandmother the day before the race, her decision to still swim with the team showed her strength, dedication, and true team spirit. It meant a great deal to everyone.
  • 15 & Over Relay Returns! A significant highlight was the formation of our first 15 & Over relay team in a long time! Annika Lao, who will be heading to college this coming school year, anchored a fantastic 200 free relay alongside first-time JAG qualifiers Sarah Lao, Olivia Maldonado, and Alanis Sandoval. This team posted impressive personal bests (PBs) across the board.
  • Boy 13-14 200M Free relay team was formed by Marcus Lee, Aiden Kwan, Raylan Hong and Andy Chen swam their best time 1:58.44 with 2.55 drop in time.
  • First-Ever 11-12 Boys Relay: Our first-ever 11-12 boys relay team, comprised of Dyllan Tran, Elijah Noji, Kurt Gartland, Ray Zhang, and Zander Kwan, swam the 200 Free Relay  (2:05.85), 200 Medley Relay (2:22.69) securing an impressive 11th place and 14th place respectively.
  • Consistent Teamwork: Brooklyn Ameela, Kalea Canton, Maxine Gonzalez, and Zoey Zhou once again demonstrated strong teamwork, achieving personal bests (PBs) in both the 200 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay.
