PIRANHAS SEND 14 SWIMMERS TO JUNIOR OLYMPICS
The Piranha Swim Team is sending 14 swimmers to compete against the fastest age group swimmers in Southern California during the short course Junior Olympics at Belmont Shores.The meet is divided into two weekends:youngers-ages 12 and under-fri,Jan.29 through Sun.Jan31,and olders,ages 13 and up,Feb.4-7.
Shelby Andrade,age 12,of La Quinta and Alissah Koochaki,11,Palm Sorings,are representing Piranhas during the first weekend.Palm Springs High School’s Lynette Lim,age 17, P.J.Redmon,15, Alex Hoogendyk,14,Alexis Castaneda,15, and Lauren Tomlin,15,are among the Piranhas swimming during the “olders”weekend.They will be joined by teammates Indira Ceranic,14, Palm Desert High School;Lindsey Letellier,14,CSOD;Kelly Ostander,15,29 Palms High School;and Sara Kennedy,15,from Yucca High.Three eighth graders will be competing;Kat wickham and Faith Travis of Palm Springs,and Alexa Wasserman of La Quinta.
