PIRANHAS SWIM AT KEVIN PERRY WITH WORLD RECORD HOLDERS

 

Nine Piranha Swimmers are competing with 400 senior swimmers, including Olympians and national team members at The Kevin Perry Memorial Senior Meet, Nov. 12-14. at the Janet Evans Swim Complex in Fullerton.   Olympians include world record holders Rebecca Soni and Kate Ziegler.

The meet has prelims in the morning session with finals in the evening for the top 24 qualifiers.

According to Piranha Swim Team’s Head Coach Adam Schmitt, “ This should be a fun meet with lots of fast swims. Our goal is to compete at this level and improve and get swims at finals.”  Prior to becoming the Piranha Head Coach, Schmitt was head coach at Lousiana State University for swimming and diving.

Representing Piranhas from Palm Springs High School are freshman Faith Travis and Kat Wickham.  From La Quinta are Chris Kopan, Adam Shaw (both Palm Desert High School juniors), Alexa Wasserman, La Quinta High School freshman, and Shelby Andrade, John Glenn Middle School 8th grader.   Indira Ceranic, a Palm Desert resident and PDHS sophomore is competing as well as Cathedral City High School senior Christina Bruni, and Twentynine Palms High School junior Kelley Ostrander.
