PIRANHAS TO HOST AGUA CALIENTE MEET

PALM SPRINGS, CA-- Nine hundred sixty-five swimmers and their families will travel to the Palm Springs Swim Center from throughout Southern California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah to swim in the Piranha’s annual short course meet called the Agua Caliente Open Invitational.  The city pool is located at 401 S. Pavilion Way.

“This is the largest meet the Piranhas have hosted in recent history—even more swimmers than we had at last year’s meet,” said Piranha Head Coach Adam Schmitt.  This will be the first meet the Piranhas host with Adam Schmitt as their head coach. Schmitt moved in September from Baton Rouge where he was head coach of swimming and diving for Lousiana State University.

The meet begins Friday at 4 p.m.  and runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until after 6 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday are divided into morning sessions for 12 and under age group swimmers, while the afternoons will feature ages 13 and older.  Swimmers of all levels will compete from beginners to national competitors.

Most swimmers and their families will be staying in local hotels and dining in area restaurants for this three-day event.
