Temecula Meet A Success

Temecula – This past weekend’s meet in Temecula was a success for many swimmers.  Many differing goals but overall we had good results as we head into our championship meets in February.  The morning sessions proved to be a success with many best times and allowing Piranha to qualify a 10 and under medley relay of Kelli Andrade, Desiree Lewis, Emma Johansen and Jacquie Cordero.  These young ladies will be representing Piranha at the Younger Junior Olympic meet in Long Beach along with 6 event individual qualifier Alisah Koochaki.  Desiree will be swimming the 50 breast and Kelli will compete in 5 individual events.

The older members of the team used this meet as a tune-up for the February championship meets.  Many swimmers attained best times and a few made JO and Sectional standards as well.  The Older Junior Olympic team will consist of 10 athletes; Shelby Andrade, Christina Bruni, Indira Ceranic, Sara Kennedy, Matt Nevins, Kelley Ostrander, Adam Shaw, Faith Travis, Alexa Wasserman and Kat Wickham.  Piranha will be having a total of 41 swims along with several relays at the meet.  Our goal as a team is to garner as many points as possible to help the team’s standings while representing Piranha with class and dignity and to compete at a very high standard.

Overall, the team has positioned itself to perform at it’s best this next month when we focus and hone in on our championship meets.  Next event will be the Younger JO meet from February 4-6, Belmont Shores .
