Great Swims in Poor Conditions!

This past weekend, the Piranha Swim Team competed in our first long course event of the new year.  It is always hard to readjust to the long pool but our swimmers showed that the hard work in the short course season has set them up for success in long course.  The cold wind was blowing; rain fell a bit but the Piranha swimmers overcame some really harsh competitive conditions to rack up over 65 best times!  This weekend was a gut check of how to mentally block out the negatives and focus on the task at hand, and that was to race and compete.  Some learned that in order to swim well in the long course season, we need to continue our hard work in practice and push ourselves even more day to day.  Overall, it was a good experience and we look forward to the two meets that Piranha is hosting in April.  Congratulations to the swimmers who improved this weekend:

  • Linden Conrad-Marut
  • Darrian Rieg

Good job to all Piranhas who participated, the goal of this meet was to get that first meet of the season under our belt and start to plan our goals for this season.  We had many others who were right on their best times which is a great starting point for our team. Let's keep up the good work!
