Success in Riverside! Monday Practice

The Piranha Swim team had a great turnout and some fantastic swims at our most recent meet this weekend at Riverside City College pool.  The team looked great and represented the Piranha Team with confidence and pride!  At all sessions, the Piranhas were seen and heard throughout the meet and also swam some great races.

The October meet is the meet that is sandwiched in between our first meet of the Fall season and before our home November meet.  It is a good meet to gauge where you are as an athlete with your training and your results.  Considering that the training is relatively new to most of the team, it is great to see good results from all the swimmers hard work.  Now is the time to continue working hard in order to prepare to qualify for the December meets.  It is always good to set goals and become aware of what each swimmer needs to do to attain the next level of their swimming.  In the middle of the season, there are ups and downs but for the sport of swimming, the rewards do come as the season progresses, culminating at the championship style meets.

Log Book - it is a great tool to use if you want to keep track of your workouts, meets, goal times, time standards and of course your times.  The coaches don't want the athletes to become too focused on times but more on the process of getting better in the water.  It is not always about time but all the other factors that contribute to swimming success; technique, etc.

Today, Monday - there will be Piranha practice at both locations tonight.  There will NOT be any DRYLAND!  The team will be only swimming tonight.  Tuesday, we will resume our normal training schedule and look forward to another month of practice to get ready for our own Agua Caliente meet this November!

GREAT JOB PIRANHAS!!
