**Head Coach Update**

Dear Swimmers, Parents, and Friends:

I have the privilege to announce that the Piranha Swim Team’s effort to secure our next Head Coach has come to a conclusion. Congratulations to everyone involved in this accomplishment!

Please welcome to the Piranha family, Head Coach Jeff Conwell.

A very brief highlight of Coach Jeff’s recent professional accomplishments:

  • 14-year tenure with nationally ranked Canyons Aquatic Club (Head Coach since 2005)
  • Assistant and Head Coach of College of the Canyons Swimming and Diving Program
  • Assistant Swim Coach at Cal State Northridge
  • Over 30 No. 1 in the nation Age Group rankings
  • 16 Southern California Swimming records & 1 National Age Group record

Since 2005, Coach Jeff’s senior groups have produced: 25 Junior National qualifiers, 13 National qualifiers, 8 Olympic Trials qualifiers, and one National Junior Team Member. Coach Jeff is also currently an active member of Southern California Swimming, serving on the Board of Review.

In addition to his significant coaching accomplishments, Coach Jeff brings more than just his skills to our desert community. I’d also like to welcome home his wife, Alicia (Chatigny) Conwell, a Piranha Alumni who hails from Palm Springs.

Over the next two weeks, Coach Jeff will be on deck, as circumstances allow, to meet coaches, swimmers and parents. He will take full control of the team effective no later than 31 October.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, please join me in welcoming Coach Jeff and his family to the Piranha Swim Team.  Our future looks very bright!
