PIRANHAS WELCOME BACK COACH ANNBRITT HOLM

The Piranha Swim Team is very excited to announce that Annbritt Holm will be returning to the Piranha Coaching staff next week.  Coach Annbritt will be assisting our Age Group program by leading the Silver group in Palm Springs.  We are very fortunate to welcome yet another experienced and well accomplished coach to our staff that has a great track record of helping swimmers in this Valley.  Please be sure to make Coach Annbritt feel welcome as we continue to work on improving the Piranha team from top to bottom and making sure our swimmers get the best coaching we can find in the Coachella Valley.

In December of 2012 Coach Annbritt Holm returned to the Piranha Staff after once serving as the teams Head Age Group Coach. Annbritt brings a successful coaching and teaching career that spans over 20 years, the majority taking place here in the Coachella Valley.  Her swim coaching career has included jobs with the Piranha Swim Team, Palm Desert Aquatics, Palm Springs High School, and her native swim club Horsholm Swim Team in Denmark were she found her passion and talent for teaching swimming.  Annbritt also currently works at the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs as the Aquatics Director and oversees The City of Palm Springs Learn to Swim Program.

As an outstanding competitive swimmer in her native country Denmark,  Annbritt was invited to swim with the Danish National Team as a teenager, traveling and competing all over the world at the International level.  She was an Olympic Trials qualifier and over her career competing at Denmark's National Meet, Annbritt earned a National Championship in the 200 meter backstroke, three bronze medals in the 100 meter backstroke, and made finals in several other events.  Holm is still swimming when she can find the time and as a Masters Swimmer won the 2010 Southwest Zone Championship in the 200 IM.

Annbritt earned her A.A. in Early Childhood Studies from the College of the Desert.  She is also an accomplished figure skater that qualified for Adult Nationals in 2000.  Besides athletics she is skilled in the arts and has done many performances as a solo singer as well as performs at the Palm Canyon Theater.  She and husband Lars Holm, a former Piranha swimmer, have two children, Mikael who is attending Idyllwild Arts Academy and Nikole who is now a Piranha Swim Team member
