PIRANHA SWIMMERS WIN 12 EVENTS AT HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our Piranha swimmers that represented their High Schools last week at the De Anza and DVL Championships did an outstanding job of making both their High Schools and the Piranha Swim Team proud.

Josh Purificacion, a Freshman at Shadow Hills and one of Coach Alicia's Indio swimmers, was our outstanding De Anza League swimmer. Josh earned a third place finish in both the 200 IM and 100 breast.  Great work for a Freshman.

At the DVL League every Piranha Swimmer made Championship finals in every event they swam and 12 out of 16 events were won by Piranha Swimmers. Future Arizona State Swimmer Indira Ceranic a Senior at Palm Desert (50 free, 100 free), Kat Wickham a Junior at Palm Springs (200 free and 500 free), Shelby Andrade a Sophomore at Xavier (100 fly and100 breast), Bryce Ramos a Junior at La Quinta (200 IM and 100 back), Nima Rohani a Senior at Palm Springs (200 free and 500 free) were our double event winners.  Palm Springs Juniors Faith Travis won the 100 back and was second in the 100 fly and Alexa Wasserman won the 200 IM and was second in the 100 breast.  Alissah Koochaki, a sophomore at Palm Springs, took second place in both the 200 free and 500 free. Xavier's Lexie Letellier, a sophomore, was second in the 200 IM and third in the 500 free and soon to be Boise State student Perrine Gaertner, a Senior, was third in both the 200 IM and the 100 breast.  The girls 200 IM was our best event.  There was a Piranha sweep of 1-2-3-4-5  with Erin Fleet, a Freshman at Xavier, and Nina Burton, a Junior at Palm Desert, both dropping large amounts of time.  Nina and Erin both made finals in the 100 fly as well.

Thank you Mark and Pam Wasserman of Keller WIlliams Realty for sponsoring the Piranha Desert Sun Ad congratulating our High School swimmers and League champions.  Thank you to La Quinta High School for the ad in the DVL League meet program.

Many of the above swimmers along with Lindsey Letellier, a Senior at Desert Christian and future swimmer at NYU, will be moving on to the CIF Championships in Riverside May 7-10th.

Thank you to all of the High School programs that have been working well with the Piranhas and best of luck to all of the Coachella Valley swimmers headed to CIF this week.
