PIRANHA WATER POLO SCHEDULE/COACHING SET, REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Everything is in place to begin Piranha Water Polo Monday Sept 30th at Shadow Hills High School.  Location, cost, schedule, and staffing is in place and on the Piranha Water Polo Section of our website.

Water Polo Registration is now open.   Our USA Water Polo club team will offer year around programming for boys and girls ages 11 and up at the Developmental and  Senior levels.  To join the Piranha's no prior Water Polo experience is necessary but beginner level proficiency in swimming freestyle and treading water skills will be required to join-see group descriptions for more info.    In addition to the Developmental and Senior Water Polo groups we will offer a third membership option , a combination of our Swimming and Water Polo programming.  The Combo group will offer the best of both worlds at a discounted rate.

The Piranha's  are also happy to announce that with the Water Polo team comes a new addition to the staff.  Coach Aaron Syvertson has been named Head Coach of the Piranha Water Polo team.  Aaron is a Piranha Swim Team alumni (we now have 5 Piranha alumni on staff) and a graduate of Indio High School where he currently holds the school record in the 100 Breast.  After graduating from Indio in 98 Aaron moved to college swimming at Cal State Northridge which coincidentally that same year Piranha Head Coach Jeff was an Assistant Coach.   Swimming is a small world!   After swimming at the NCAA level Aaron moved on to serve our country as a member of the United States Navy.

Coach Aaron is coming to the Piranhas with many years of experience playing, officiating, and coaching Water Polo.  After the Navy he worked as a Water Polo official at the NFHS, NCAA, and USA Water Polo levels and served as the Southern Pacific Zone Rep. to National JO's and was elected President/Head Official of Inland Empire Water Polo.  After going into officiating the next step was coaching.  Aaron was the Head Boys and Girls Water Polo Coach at Palm Desert High School for four years.  In  2010 Syvertson was named the DVL Girls Water Polo Coach of the Year and in 2011 named the DVL Boys Water Polo Coach of the Year.

Coach Aaron lives in Palm Desert and works for the YMCA as a manager of the Palm Desert Aquatics Center.  He has earned his AA from tCollege of the Desert and will be finishing his B.A. from Brandman University this March.  More info on Coach Aaron along with his email contact info will be up in the Coaches Section of our website soon.  Welcome to the Team Aaron.
