Founded in 1962, the Buenaventura Swim Club is a year-round competitive swim club concerned with guiding and directing swimmers toward maximum use of their individual talents and abilities.
Buenaventura Swim Club believes in developing the character of each athlete through positive reinforcement of earned self-esteem, goal setting, time management, personal accountability, and team spirit. By successfully fostering these attributes each individual swimmer gains enduring life skills.
Our club supports young swimmers through to our US Masters Team adults. Swimmers from our club have gone on to compete in JAGs, CIF, prominent college teams, and even Olympic trials. We offer opportunities to compete at swim meets in Southern California with the support of our coaches.
The Buenaventura Swim Club helps youth discover that swimming is a sport they can enjoy for their entire lives.

Registration Process for Age Group Swimmers
- Email [email protected] to schedule an evaluation for your swimmer for placement into appropriate training group. Minimum requirement is to successfully complete 25 yards. The coach will provide a recommendation on the group level for your swimmer.
- If you would like to join the team after an evaluation please send an email to [email protected] and include your name, address, email address, birth date and Group that the Coach placed you in (eg, Stroke Development, Age Group, Junior, Senior). After receiving this email, our team administrator will create an account and an email will be sent to you so that you can complete the registration process online. There is a $75.00 seasonal admin fee per family and $50 registration fee per swimmer.
- Registering with USA Swimming is required for all swimmers (except Pre-Comp). The USA Swimming Registration link will be provided during the Buena registration process. The annual fee will be paid separately to USA Swimming through your USA Swimming account
