SMRT Swimmers Make a Splash in the Lowcountry
Several SMRT athletes competed in the 2010 Lowcountry Splash. SMRT’s Caty Hueske, was
the first female to finish this 2.4 mile open water swim, often referred to as “the bridge swim”.
Summer Santos was a close runner up. Senior, Lindsey Moore was top female finisher in the
15-19 age group. The male winner of the combined “over/under” award for the athlete who
has the fastest combined finish time for the Bridge Run and Lowcountry Splash went to another
SMRT swimmer, Brent Demarest.

Training in the relentless and unforgiving heat of the
Charleston summer, SMRT swimmers have pushed
themselves to excel at the highest level of competition.
Congratulations!
