MLK Pool Cooling Study
Dear SMRT Families:
By clicking on the link at the end of this news release you will be able to access a copy of the MLK Pool Study that was funded by ABC of SMRT and donations from the Masters swim group.
A representative group consisting of SMRT coaches, ABC of SMRT Board of Directors, City of Charleston Recreation and City of Charleston Facilities met to discuss the findings. All were in agreement to proceed with geothermal cooling approach.
Our group is in the process of scheduling a meeting with the City of Charleston Capital Projects group to discuss funding. While we will not have resolution to the warm water issue this summer, our goal is to have resolution to this matter by next summer.
In the interim, the aeration system is in place and is being used to cool the pool temps at MLK. As things progress, I will continue to post updates on the progress.
