Wells Cloud Achieves Another State Record
Our Senior ISCA team is halfway through the ISCA Summer Senior Blast meet in St. Petersburg, Florida and making new team records, state records, podium and top 10 finishes, personal bests, and MORE! This post is to highlight 16-year old Wells Cloud, who tonight took home the GOLD in the 100 Fly. It's a new SOUTH CAROLINA STATE RECORD (15-16 boys 100 fly), SMRT Team Record, AND a qualifying time for the Summer Jr. Nationals! Way to go Wells!!! On Tuesday, his 50 Free lead-off split in the Open 200 Meter Free Relay of 24.29 seconds earned him a Winter Jr. Nationals qualifying time. That relay was also a new SMRT team record at 1:40.89 (with teammates Kayleb Eldridge, Daniyal Eldridge, and Sean Groeber), as was the 16&U Boys 200 Medley Relay yesterday with Wells, Sean Groeber, Daniyal Eldridge, and Parker Hamilton (1:54.18). We are so proud of Wells and the entire SMRT ISCA team! Two more days of competition to go. Let's keep breaking records!
For the record (pun intended), Wells Cloud currently holds FIVE state long course records and ONE short course state record. In our SMRT record books, in our LONG COURSE records, Wells still holds an unbelievable TEN team records in the 11-12 age group, 6 in the 13-14 age group, and he is still adding to his 3 records in the 15-18 age group. He still holds FIVE team records in the 9-10 age group for short course (dating back to 2017). Additionally he holds five short course records in the 11-12 age group, and six in the 13-14 age group. He has definitely made an impact during his time swimming for SMRT!
