JEN MASSEY NEW MINNOWS AND BLACK 1 COACH

Stephen Pickell
I am thrilled to announce that we have hired the new Minnows and Black 1 coach, Jen Massey.  Jen will begin coaching at Socal in March.
Jen Massey has been passionate about swimming for as long as she can remember. She personally started swimming as an age-group swimmer and continued through college. After college, she began teaching private swim lessons and continues to do so 36 years later. She has a vast coaching portfolio, starting with Club Swimming at the AAA Club in 1986 and eventually joining the Coaching Staff at Foothill High School in 2009, where she was my assistant coach. When I left Foothill, she became the head coach and has spent the last 17 years developing the Girls Swim Program. For several years, while Jen was at Foothill, her assistant was Coach Pristine. And when Pristine and Ben told me they were retiring from Club Coaching, Pristine suggested I hire Jen.
Jen’s level of mastery ranges from first-time learners to competitive athletes striving for excellence. Jen focuses on developing strong fundamentals, building confidence in the water, and fostering a lifelong love for swimming. She believes in combining technical precision with motivation to help each swimmer reach their full potential. But, as importantly, having fun and fostering team spirit!
When not on deck, Jen enjoys painting, crafting, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to being a grandma for the first time in April!
Welcome to Socal Coach Jen!
