Wren Collins stole the spotlight with a sensational double-record performance in the 13-14 Girls division. Collins smashed the long-standing 50-yard butterfly team record, previously held by Maya Gallimore since 2019, and further improved upon her own 100-yard backstroke record that she had set just nine months ago in March 2025. Taking down a six-year-old mark while also lowering her own recent standard in the same meet underscores Collins' pure dominance and rapid ascent this season.
Jay Hickman continued his breakout campaign by shattering two major marks in the 200-yard freestyle: the 17-18 Boys age group record (previously held by Timo Paisley since 2021) and the overall Open SCAT Team Record, which had stood since 2014 by Aidan Pastel.Jay raced five events (200 free, 200 fly, 100 free, 200 back and 200 IM) in finals and came away with personal best times in ALL of them. Dropping PBs across that many tough events in one meet is straight-up elite. The versatility and speed are unreal, Jay – you're crushing it!
Macie Weingarten added to the record-breaking weekend by eclipsing her own freshly set 13-14 Girls 200-yard butterfly team record from November—dropping time on a mark less than two months old and showcasing remarkable progression.
Zoe de Fabrique raced the 200 Fly, 200 Back, and 200 IM in finals – dropping personal bests in all three events! On top of that, she broke her own 17-18 Girls 200 Yard Backstroke team record AND took down the Open SCAT Team Record in the event, previously held by Kaitlyn Albertoli since 2019!
These swimmers competed in a variety of individual events, with opportunities in bonus swims and time trials available throughout the meet. SCAT athletes gained valuable experience against top sectional-level competition from across California and Nevada, focusing on technique refinement and race execution as part of their ongoing development. With only 9 athletes competing as one of the smallest teams in the meet, SCAT punched way above our weight:
14th Place – Men’s Team
That kind of result with such a small squad is a testament to the heart, grit, and talent of every swimmer and coach. You all represented SCAT with pride!
This is what SCAT swimming is all about – quality over quantity!Coaches highlighted the group's resilience and positive attitude, noting several strong swims and personal improvements during prelims and finals sessions.
