Reminder on Social Distancing

Reminder on Social Distancing

Parents and Practice Spectators,

We need your assistance. Due to increasing COVID data in Citrus County we are improving our social distancing at practice. One of the areas we need your help is behind the starting blocks area. We are needed to reserve that area for the swimmers to have more space on deck when stretching, using the starting blocks, and/or when they need to exit the water. We are asking that seating areas behind the starting block be for swimmers and coaches only.  Our team leaders (e.g. Captain, Ms. Nikki, Ms. Lori and Ms. Caroline) will be in one of the other shaded locations should you need.  Below are our team’s safe practices which were part of our return to swim plan.  Please review them.

We thank you for your understanding and support. Together we will continue to prevail and grow for our athletes.

Thank you,

Sun Coast Swim Team

Safety Precautions

  • Coaches and staff will ask athletes, as they come into practice, if they feel ill in any way, specifically listing certain symptoms, and send home those athletes reporting feeling ill or experiencing symptoms.
    • Symptoms include mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough and difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC.
    • If an athlete is sent home, the athlete must see a physician and be cleared for training after being diagnosed or suspected to have COVID-19. (If prolonged, financial adjustments will be arranged.)
  • Athletes/coaches who begin to cough/sneeze for any reason, must move away from others until coughing/ sneezing dissipates.
  • Parents and others during practice should maintain social distancing and to give coaches the appropriate space when working with swimmers. Swimmers and coaches only in observation area behind starting blocks.
  • Athletes should change clothes and shower at home.

WE ASK THAT ALL OUR ATHLETES CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THESE USA SWIMMING EXPECTATIONS
