Practice schedule changes due to the start of High School Season
Dear Sun Coast Family,
Citrus County Schools and Hernando County Schools have recently decided to compete in the FHSAA fall season and the FHSAA State Series. This would include swimming and diving. The first high school practice will begin Sept. 7, 2020.
The Citrus County School District has agreements for pool use with the Bicentennial and YMCA pools. This means as is typical for the months of September and October, Sun Coast Swim Team will need to temporarily transition to an alternative practice schedule. In addition, a significant number of SCST swimmers from all three Citrus high school teams and at least two Hernando high school teams, along with coaches participate in high school swim and dive season.
Please review the revised schedule during the high school season. If for any reason the school districts or FHSAA find it necessary to suspend or cancel the high school season, then SCST plans to return to a full schedule and we will prorate monthly fees.
SCST Practices beginning September 7th – November 7th, 2020
Mondays thru Fridays
High School 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Sharks*/Dolphins 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Otters 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Saturdays
Sharks & others 7:00am – 9:00am
*Advanced high school SCST Shark swimmers who are currently on high school teams have an option for additional daily practices (up to an hour) and Saturday morning practice for $35/month, or Saturday morning only for $20/month for September and October.
Lastly, SCST has a long-standing agreement with CRHS to score the dual meets. This year to provide a better high school meet experience during these unique times the SCST Board of Directors as agreed to this season use our touchpads, scoreboard, and scoring system and to support scoring each of the dual meets for all three high school swim teams.
