Sun Coast Swim Team Shines at 2023 YMCA Youth Triathlon
The 2023 YMCA Youth Triathlon, Presented by Citrus Oral and Facial Surgery, held at the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA in Lecanto, Florida, was a day of triumph for the young athletes of Sun Coast Swim Team (SCST). This USAT-Sanctioned Triathlon attracted young talents from all over the region, and four members of SCST showcased their incredible skills at the event.
Jocelyn Daugherty, a 12-year-old standout from SCST, stole the show by taking the top spot in the Senior division. Her determination, speed, and endurance pushed her to cross the finish line first, leaving spectators in awe of her prowess. Jocelyn's achievement demonstrates her dedication to her sport and her bright future in the world of triathlon.
In the Junior division, 9-year-old Chase Alford made an impressive mark by securing the second position. Chase's performance showed that age is no barrier when it comes to determination and hard work. His determination to improve and compete at such a high level at such a young age is a testament to his potential in the world of triathlons.
Cullen Alford, aged 11, was another SCST athlete who clinched the second spot in the Senior division. His display of strength and resilience throughout the race was remarkable. Cullen's achievement signifies his growth as an athlete and foreshadows his promising journey in the triathlon world.
Adalyn Gronendyke, just 9 years old, showed great spirit and enthusiasm in her participation, marking a significant milestone in her athletic journey.
The success of these young SCST athletes not only highlights their individual achievements but also underscores the dedication and commitment of their coaches, families, and the entire Sun Coast Swim Team community.
As we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable young athletes, we'd also like to express our gratitude to Citrus Oral and Facial Surgery for their invaluable support of our community's youth athletics and health. Their commitment to fostering young talent and promoting healthy living is an essential part of the success story we witnessed today at the 2023 YMCA Youth Triathlon. We can only anticipate greater things from these young athletes as they continue to grow and excel in their chosen sports, inspiring others to chase their dreams and pursue their own goals in the world of triathlons.
