In a festive display of skill and camaraderie, the Sun Coast Swim Team hosted the 2023 Candy Cane Swim Meet at the Bicentennial Park Pool in Crystal River. This inter-squad competition brought together swimmers from various age groups, showcasing their prowess in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and the individual medley (IM).
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Head Coach Dickemann, Coach Penn, and the unwavering support from Coach Cliff. Special acknowledgment is also extended to Mr. Gatton, who served as the event's charismatic announcer, keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging. The indispensable contributions of Ms. Nikki (Rieck) and the numerous parent volunteers and donations were instrumental in making the Candy Cane Swim Meet a truly special occasion.
Top Finishers: Rising Stars Shine Bright
The meet saw stellar performances from top finishers across multiple events. In the girls/women's category, Evie Filipic, Halle Filipic, Jolena Warford, Jocelyn Daugherty, Morgan Gibson, Madison Brault, and Molly Maguire displayed exceptional talent by clinching top-three positions in various events.
On the boys/men's side, Nash Bouchard, Wayke Lecouris, Chase Alford, Cullen Alford, Cy Collins, Jerry Randall, and Danny Pontrelli II emerged as top contenders, securing podium finishes in multiple events.

The comprehensive results revealed that the Sun Coast Swim Team swimmers excelled across all age groups and strokes, showcasing their versatility and dedication to the sport. Many swimmers stood out with multiple top-three finishes, highlighting the depth of talent within the team.
