The Sun Coast Swim Team extends its best wishes to our 2024 Florida Age Group (FLAG) championship Summer Long Course champion swimmers Cullen Alford (12), Halle Filipic (10), and Chase Alford (10). These talented athletes will be competing from July 11 through July 14, 2024, at the prestigious Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training center in Ocala, FL. Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance have brought them to this significant stage, and we are immensely proud of their achievements.

Chase Alford, competing in the 10 & Under age group, will showcase his versatility across multiple events. He will swim in the 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 50 backstroke, 200 freestyle, and 50 freestyle. Chase’s consistent performance throughout the season has earned him a spot in these competitive events, and we are excited to see him excel against some of the best young swimmers in the state.

Cullen Alford, representing the 11-12 age group, will compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, and 200 freestyle. Cullen’s focus and determination have been evident in his rigorous training sessions, and his participation in these events highlights his progress and potential. We look forward to witnessing his strong performances and personal bests at the championships.

Halle Filipic, also in the 10 & Under age group, will participate in the 50 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 100 freestyle. Halle’s enthusiasm for swimming and her commitment to improving her techniques have been inspiring to watch. Her participation in a range of events demonstrates her all-around capabilities and her readiness to take on the challenges of the FLAG championships.

The FLAG championships are a culmination of months of intense training, dedication, and passion for swimming. It’s an opportunity for these young athletes to test their skills against their peers and to experience the excitement and camaraderie of a high-level competitive event. The support from their coaches, teammates, and families has been instrumental in their journey, and it’s heartwarming to see the Sun Coast Swim Team community rallying behind them.

As these swimmers step onto the starting blocks, we encourage them to swim their hearts out, enjoy the experience, and take pride in how far they’ve come. The entire Sun Coast Swim Team is cheering for Cullen, Halle, and Chase. Good luck, and may you achieve your goals and create lasting memories at the 2024 FLAG championships!
