Tridents Excel in

Las Vegas

Last weekend 11 Tridents traveled to Las Vegas .  The team competed in the Winter Age Group Championships.  Highlights included Mei Ling Chun winning silver in the 100 free (also winning bronze in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Theresa Lo finished 4th in her 500 free dropping 6 seconds from her previous best.  Theresa Lo, Lauryn Robbins, Vanessa Cheng and Mei Ling won two bronze medals in the 200 and 400 Free Relays.  Michael Wang also garnered a medal in the 200 Freestyle. David Wang just missed his Spring Junior Olympic Qualifying Times swimming crazy fast in his events.  Vanessa Cheng broke the 1 Minute Barrier in the 100 Freestyle for the first time.
 


 

Top Race

The top race of the meet was in the 1650 freestyle.  Lexi raced a competitor in the next lane racing for 19 minutes in a close race.  Lexi then gutted it out by putting her head down and charging to the wall  to touch out her competitor.

Biggest Drop

Theresa Lo dropped 11 seconds in her 200 Fly on her way to qualifying early for the 13-14 Junior Olympics

Also competing were Aaron Tran and Alec Hsing.  Jill McGill and Brittany Yee were out of commission with illness.
