Coaches and Directors
Coach Karl is a native of Farmington Hills MI and a graduate of North Farmington HS. He is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester MI and was a 10 time NCAA Division II All American, a member of 3 NCAA Division I I National Title winning squads and Team Captain his senior year. Karl began coaching with the Oakland Live Y’ers in Rochester MI as Top Senior Assistant, and was part of the 2000 Boys runner up finish at the North East Junior Nationals. In the fall of 2000 Karl became Head Coach of the Anderson Swim Club in SC. In his 8 years there Karl coached all levels from developmental swimmers to Senior National Qualifiers, building the program from 30 swimmers to almost 100 during his tenure. In 2008 Coach Karl became Top Senior Assistant for Y Spartaquatics. At YSSC Karl developed multiple State and Sectional Record Holders; Y National Finalist; Summer Junior National; and Olympic Trial Qualifiers. Karl is a Level 5 American Swimming coaches Association certified coach. His swimmers have produced more than 70 National Age Group Top Ten swims, and three #1 ranked swims. Karl believes that the personal connection between the coach and athlete; along with hard work and dedication are fundamentally important in the sport of swimming. Karl resides in Williamston SC with his wife Erica and his two daughters Adison, and Abigail.
Danyelle Parker works primarily with Blue Development and Blue High Performance groups. Prior to joining the staff at Team Greenville, Coach Danyelle coached for seven years with Y-Spartaquatics, in Duncan, SC. While coaching at Y-Spartaquatics Coach Danyelle worked with Age Group swimmers as a lead group coach, as well as with the youngest swimmers entering competitive swimming. Coach Danyelle also coached in the Boston area for several years beginning as the Head Coach at the Salem YMCA, which under her leadership went which under her leadership went on to merge with five other YMCA’s to form the YMCA of the North Shore. While in Boston, Coach Danyelle coached numerous New England Area Age Group Champions, National level swimmers, and YMCA New England Champions.
Coach Danyelle grew up in Greenville, and fell in love with the sport of swimming when she joined SAIL swimming. Upon moving to Boston in high school Coach Danyelle continued to swim and played soccer. Coach Danyelle graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Political Science and Biology. Coach Danyelle lives in Greer with her husband Andrew and their three daughter’s Riley, Caroline, and Bridget. Coach Danyelle loves to cook, read, and spend time at the beach!
Coach Erin has been coaching with Team Greenville since the fall of 2017 and is now the site director for Holly Tree. Prior to this role, she coached Discovery, Blue Group, Green Group and Green High Performance. Before joingin the staff at Team Greenville, she has been heavily involved in the swimming community in the Upstate of SC. Coach Erin spent 10 years working on deck at YSSC as their lead developmental coach achieving ASCA Level 3 status. Over the course of her coaching career she has coached high school teams at JL Mann, Southside Christian, and most recently helped launch the varsity program at the brand new district Fountain Inn High School. Coach Erin has taught hundreds of children to swim through her lessons across the upstate and has dedicated many years to helping support the SAIL program. Before beginning her coaching career, Coach Erin grew up right here in Greenville! As a Greenville native she swam in the SAIL program and YSSC. She received her BA in English and Secondary Education from Clemson University and the Calhoun Honors College. Coaching with Team Greenville is an extra special treat as she gets to share the pool with her four terrapins, Jackson, Knox, Ella, and Mills. She lives in Simpsonville with her husband Travis, their four kids, a bunch of chickens, and quite a few sheep on their family farm.
Coach Carlton grew up in the Atlanta area and swam for the University of Florida. In 1996 he represented the United States at the Olympic Games in the 1500m freestyle. After his swimming career Carlton coached with Club Wolverine at the University of Michigan along side legendary coaches Jon Urbanchek and Peter Lynn. After starting a family, Carlton worked in the business world but stayed connected with the sport as his kids were competitive swimmers at H2A in Hilton Head. His passion for the sport caused him to get back into coaching, taking a position as the Assistant Coach at Ashland University in Ohio for two seasons. Carlton is excited to have the opportunity to work with our swimmers to help them reach their potential and be a part of our program!

Coach Lorin Collins is our full time Head Site Coach at Holly Tree. Lorin grew up in Phoenix, Arizona as the daughter of a former competitive swimmer and developed a love for the sport at an early age. She brings 14 years of coaching and lessons experience to our staff. Lorin has been the Head Coach of Florida Elite Swimming in Land O’ Lakes FL, and Head Site Coach for the Marlins of Raleigh. She has coached at all levels of the sport and has had multiple Junior National qualifiers and National Age Group “Top 10” ranked swims.
Lorin is an intelligent, organized individual that genuinely cares about developing good people as well as good swimmers. She has strong leadership skills and work ethic; we are blessed to have her to help TG take the program to the next level. Coach Lorin is a huge Clemson fan and shares the same philosophy as Coach Dabo. First developing kind, respectful members of society. Then preaching “Best is the Standard,” be the best swimmer, teammate, and student you can be.


Coach Sara has recently moved to Greenville from Athens, GA in late September. As a life long swimmer she grew up swimming summer league and year round (in Snellville, GA) and did club swimming at UVA during undergrad. She has taught swimming for the last 8 years and was most recently coaching with the Athens Bulldogs Swim Club during grad school and a couple years after coaching a variety of groups from the youngest/newest swimmers to higher level/older age group swimmers. Sara is also a masters swimmer and a pediatric speech pathologist, but she is excited that she can still be involved with swimming/coaching in a new place! She is looking forward to getting to know and coach your kids and get to grow their love for the sport!

Coach Scott grew up swimming in Virginia before moving to the Chicago area where he was captain of his high school team. He then went on to swim collegiately at the University of Delaware competing in mostly distance events. Throughout his high school and college career, Scott coached summer league and was head coach for two different teams. Scott currently coaches and competes for the Greenville Splash Masters Team. He continues to challenge himself in the pool and landed a national top ten time for his age group in the 1500. When he isn't on the pool deck or in the pool he works full-time as Director of Revenue for local Pepsi Bottlers. He hopes to see no one drinking a Coca Cola this season.

Coach Jenny has been coaching with the Terrapins for 5 seasons. She is also the assistant coach of the JL Mann varsity swim team and has taught hundreds of children in our community to swim through her swim school. Coach Jenny has a heart for developmental swimming and is a primary coach at the Holly Tree location. Jenny spent years coaching at YSSC prior to being the program director at GCAC and is now excited to be back on deck with TG. She is married to Bill and they have two grown children; Savanna is a alum of University of Florida where she swam all four years and is now enrolled in medical school at MUSC and Ian is finishing up his years at Winthrop University where he has been on their golf team.
Coach Julia has been on deck with Team Greenville for 7 years. Prior to joining us here in SC, Julia lived in Colorado with her family while her husband served in the US Armed Services. She and her husband Andy have three children, Weston, Kaylin, and Jenna. Jenna is also an assistant coach at Holly Tree. Julia has a background in competitive swimming and has coached groups at TG ranging from Discovery all the way up to Senior. Now Julia is a primary assistant at Holly Tree. Julia loves teaching swim lessons and as a heart for adaptive aquatics.


Coach Morgan is in her second season as a Terrapin Coach. She spent one season as a lead Discovery coach and one is on staff at Holly Tree while filling in with other groups as needed. Morgan has a gift for building relationships with swimmers and has a background with SAIL coaching! She spends her summers on deck with the Riverwalk team and during her school days, Morgan is a student at Furman University. Morgan also is very active in her sorority while also assisting with the Greenville High varsity swim team.



Coach Cile has been at Team Greenville for 14 years. She began as a swim parent, and has held roles with the Booster Club, and now coaching. Coach Cile also is an avid Masters swimmer, and is the Head Coach of the JL Mann Patriots, where she has led her team to three State Championships in just seven seasons. She is an ASCA Level 2 certified coach.
