Lovelace Wins 200 Breast At US Open!
Curtis Lovelace finishes his summer in style by winning the 200 breastroke at the US Open in Federal Way Washington August 3-9. This swim caps off a fantastic summer for Lovelace. In July Curtis came within a few tenths of a second of qualifying for the United States World Championship team. Curtis followed that up with an even faster performance in Washington. Lovelace won the event with a time of 2:10.38 which broke the existing meet record. Curtis also finished fourth in the 100 breast and sixteenth in the 200 IM.
Andrew Mitchell also had three top 16 performances for NAC at the open. Mitchell was sixth place in the 100 fly going 53.39. He also finished seventh in both the 100 back (56.40) and the 200 IM (2:02.57) and was 17th in the 200 back with a time 2:01.48. Taylor Camp added two bonus final swims finishing 23rd in the 100 fly (54.75) and 24th in the 200 fly (2:03.85).
Also, competing in the meet for Nashville Aquatic Club were Kyle Johnson in the men’s 50 free and Maddie Garrett in the women’s 200 fly.
