Dakota Hodgson wins the 200 yard butterfly in a Junior National Meet Record time of 1:46.08, with NAC finishing the meet in 8th place for the men’s team score!

Day 3 wrap-up:
The final day of Junior Nationals featured Dakota Hodgson defending his title in the 200 yard butterfly with a new meet record of 1:46.09. Dakota took the lead at the 100 and had to fight off some strong charging competitors to finish .66 ahead of second. Dakota’s 200 fly time is a new NAC senior team record to go along with his senior team record in the 500 free from Friday night. Eleanor Phillips finished up with an 8th place finish in the A-Final with a time of 2:02.27 to score NAC’s first women’s team points of the meet (2:01.04 in preliminaries). Also scoring points was the men’s 400 free relay of Parker Camp, Madison Wenzler, Maclin Davis, and Dakota Hodgson with a time of 3:05.16 for 5th place. In the bonus finals tonight, Parker Camp swam a personal best of 1:48.64 in the 200 back to finish in 24th place and Madison Wenzler swam 47.59 in the 100 free for 30th place. In the prelims, Madison swam a personal best of 46.63. NAC finished the meet in 8th place in the men’s team points.

Day 2 of Junior Nationals in Columbus, Ohio is completed and the NAC men's team is in 8th place. The highlight of the meet so far has been Dakota Hodgson's 500 free swim of 4:21.11 for second place on day 1. The race was an exciting and strategic one in which Dakota trailed by nearly 2 seconds at the half way point and with 50 to go, he had pulled up to tie for the lead, but was out sprinted to the finish. Both swimmers swam a quick 50.2 for the last 100. Other day 1 swims making finals were Parker Camp in the 500 free finishing 18th with a 4:31.96 and Madison Wenzler in the 50 free finishing 25th with 21.31. The NAC men's 200 free relay comprised by Madison Wenzler, Maclin Davis, Jarvis Werkhaven, and Parker Camp won the consolation final with a time of 1:24.09 which would have ranked them 4th overall had the team made the A final. Finishing out the first day, the 400 medley relay of Parker Camp, Jarvis Werkhaven, Dakota Hodgson, and Maclin Davis finished 6th with a 3:24.55.

On day 2, the 200 medley relay of Parker Camp, Jarvis Werkhaven, Dakota Hodgson, and Madison Wenzler finished 5th with a time of 1:33.65. Swims that were good enough to swim in finals were Maclin Davis in the 100 fly for 16th at 50.39, Dakota Hodgson in the 100 fly for 17th with 50.65, Parker Camp in the 200 free for 16th with 1:40.42, and Parker in the 100 back for 10th at 50.41. Other swims on the day were Eleanor Phillips in the 100 fly and 400 IM with times of 58.57 and 4:27.80, Anna Grainger in the 100 back at 58.33, and Jarvis Werkhaven in the 100 breast at 58.96. Madison Wenzler had a big drop in the 100 back down to 51.06 which gave him 32nd and the second alternate spot for finals.
