Nationals Update: Maclin Davis Qualifies for 2011 FINA World Junior Champs!

The first three days at USA Swimming Nationals in Palo Alto, CA have been exciting for NAC athletes!

On Thursday evening, Maclin Davis finished in 11th place in the men's 100m butterfly and was the fastest 18 and under athlete in the country - touching the wall in 53.23.  The finish qualifies Maclin for the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru from August 16-21.  Congratulations, Maclin!  Taylor Camp also had a fantastic swim in the B final, finishing in 15th place in a time of 53.84.

On Tuesday, Hannah Runyon-Hass swam a lifetime best in the 200m IM, just missing the Olympic Trials cut and finishing in 2:19.79, good for 64th place.

Wednesday saw Dakota Hodgson qualify for the A final and finish in 10th place in the men's 200m butterfly - clocking a 1:58.81 in the morning.  Taylor Camp qualified for the B final in the 200m butterfly, and finished in 18th place after swimming a 2:00.78 in the morning!

NAC Alumni have also had a successful first few days of the meet, as Jackson Wilcox finished 6th in the men's 400m freestyle in a lifetime best of 3:51.02.  Wilcox also finished 11th in the men's 200m freestyle clocking a time of 1:49.84.    Hayes Johnson finished in 27th place in the 100m backstroke, finishing in 56.4.  Curtis Lovelace picked up a 9th place finish in the 100m breaststroke, finishing in 1:01.76.
