USA Swimming released it's 2010-2011 Academic All-America team, and the Nashville Aquatic Club is represented by 10 athletes, more than any other club in Southeastern Swimming.
Congratulations to Taylor Charles, Ted Curtiss, Alex Goss, Tate Ramsden, Nathan Stinson, Jarvis Werkhaven, Michelle Chintanaphol, Morgan Flynn, Anna Grainger, and Bridget Killian!
From USA Swimming:
The Scholastic All-America Team recognizes USA Swimming members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool. The Scholastic All-America Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event.
This year, the roster includes 1,759 swimmers (1,051 girls and 708 boys), which is 200 more student-athletes than were on the 2009-2010 list.
Highlighting this year’s roster is Eva Fabian (Keene, N.H.). Fabian was the only perfect score on the 2010-2011 list as she had both a 4.0 GPA and earned the National Title in the 2011 women's 10K Open Water swim. Fabian is also the first high-school student to earn a National Championship in a USA Swimming open water swim.
The girls' list has 135 three-timers and 786 with a 4.0 GPA, while the boys' list has 85 three-timers and 515 with a 4.0 GPA.
