NAC wins 18th SES Short Course Team Title!

Nearly one hundred Nashville Aquatic Club athletes traveled to Knoxville, TN for the 2012 Southeastern Swimming Short Course Championships.  The meet, hosted on the campus of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, brings together all of the fastest athletes from across Southeastern Swimming for a three and a half day championship.  NAC athletes performed exceptionally well, and brought home their 18th SES Short Course team championship!

Breakout swims from NAC included several 12 and Under athletes, as Millie Oldham, 10, and Erik Hoogerland, 10, finaled in all 7 of their 10 and Under events, while Austin Morris took home two titles in the 11-12 age group - 50 and 100 breaststroke.  The NAC 10 and Under boys medley relay of Thomas Miller, John Windley, Erik Hoogerland, and Rob McCall also had a great swim - picking up a 2nd place finish!

First place finishers from NAC included:  Dakota Hodgson (1000FR, 200FR, 400IM, 200FLY), Elizabeth Stinson (1650FR), Tatum Wade (13-14 200FR), Austin Morris (11-12 50BR, 100BR), Annie Kyriakidis (13-14 100BR, 400IM, 200FLY, 200IM, 200BR), Morgan Flynn (1000FR), Erika Giuse (13-14 200BK), Anna Grainger (200BK), Carrie Johnson (13-14 100FLY).

Top eight finishers from NAC included:  Alex Robinson, LaraBeth Case, Charlsi Jane Patterson, Morgan Flynn, Millie Oldham, Erik Hoogerland, Julia-Jane Eskew, Ford Ray, Eamon Morris, Kathryn Cole, Carrie Johnson, Michelle Chintanaphol, Nathan Stinson, Tate Ramsden, Tatum Wade, Elena Escalas, Alex Goss, Austin Morris, Erika Giuse, Paige Colaberdino, Will McCall, Chatham Dobbs, Taylor Charles, Ted Curtiss, Sophie Pilkinton, Anna Grainger, Matt McPherson, Seth Kyriakidis, Valerie Bates, Adam Cornett, Lettie Williams, Philip Fossee, Allison Maher, Maddie Hoff and Reece Boyd.

NAC now heads into the Long Course season looking to defend their 2011 Southeastern Swimming Long Course team championship!  Several NAC athletes are also working hard towards qualifying for this year's USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials, to be held in June and July, 2012.
