NAC Men Finish in 6th Place at USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals
Nashville Aquatic Club athletes had an extremely successful weekend at USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals, held December 6-8, 2012 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. Fifteen NAC athletes made the trip, and, as a team, had one of their best showings in recent years. Athletes making the trip included Chatham Dobbs, Reece Boyd, Taylor Charles, Michelle Chintanaphol, Ted Curtiss, Andrew Dobbs, Morgan Flynn, Philip Fossee, Alex Goss, Maddie Hoff, Carrie Johnson, Annie Kyriakidis, Matt McPherson, Elizabeth Stinson, and Tatum Wade.
In the team results, the NAC men finished in 6th place overall, while in the combined scores, the team finished in 10th place overall.
Highlighting the best relay swims from the weekend, both genders represented well across the board. The men's 4 x 50 Freestyle relay finished in 6th place, the men's 4 x 100 Medley relay finished in 5th place, the men's 4 x 50 Medley relay finished in 3rd place, and the men's 4 x 100 Freestyle relay finished in 10th place. The women's 4 x 100 Medley relay finished in 12th place, and the women's 4 x 50 Medley relay finished in 13th place.
In individual final performances, Taylor Charles finished in 4th place in the 200 Butterfly, Elizabeth Stinson finished in 5th place in the 1650 Freestyle, and Chatham Dobbs finished 6th in the 100 Backstroke.
Individual consolation of bonus swims included Annie Kyriakidis (200BR, 200IM), Michelle Chintanaphol (200BK), Chatham Dobbs (200IM, 100FLY, 200BK), Carrie Johnson (100FLY), Taylor Charles (400IM, 200IM), and Elizabeth Stinson (500FR).
