NAC Dominates High School Region and Middle School Championships
Nashville Aquatic Club swimmers dominated the Middle School and High School Region Championships over the weekend. Athletes represented their middle and high schools at meets held on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1. At the Middle School Championships, NAC athletes dominated the 16 individual events with 11 championship finishes, 3 meet records, and over 40 Top 8 swims. At the Region Championships, the NAC women took home individual titles in 7 of the 8 events offered.
At the Middle School Championship, NAC athletes not only took home individual titles, but 3 of those winning finishes were record breaking performances. This included swims by seventh grader Ella Nelson breaking the 200 Freestyle record with a time of 1:58.07, eighth grader Zac Gammons swimming a winning time of 56.07 in the 100 Backstroke, and sixth grader Kallie Chelsvig finishing with a top time of 1:00.11 in the 100 Butterfly, all tearing through the previous championship records.
