NAC Athletes Continue the Success at the Speedo Junior National Championships

This past weekend NAC had 10 athletes travel to Columbus, Ohio for Junior National Championships.  In the combined total, NAC placed 4th out of all the competition, and on the women’s side placed 2nd!  Congratulations to Matthew Lattin, Noah Stopkotte, Elijah Patrick, Spencer Klinsky, Gretchen Walsh, Alex Walsh, Allison Raab, Ella Nelson, Lauren Hurt, and Julia Jane Eskew!

On the Women’s side, the quartet of Alex, Allison, Ella, and Gretchen placed 1st in the 400 Medley Relay, and 2nd in the 200 medley relay as well as 2nd in the 800 Freestyle relay.  The women’s 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay each placed 2nd with performances from Gretchen, Allison, Alex, and Julia Jane.

On the Men’s side, Spencer, Noah, Elijah, and Matthew placed 27th in the 200 Medley Relay, 19th in the 200 Freestyle Relay, and 24th in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Individually, there were many outstanding performances! Alex Walsh finished 1st in the 100 Backstroke, 200 Backstroke, 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke, which set a new National Age Group Record with her time of 58.80.  Allison Raab finished 7th in the 200 IM, 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke, and 2nd in the 200 Breaststroke.  Ella Nelson finished 10th in the 200 IM, 6th in the 400 IM, and 3rd in the 200 Breaststroke.  Gretchen Walsh finished 10th in the 50 Freestyle, 19th in the 200 Freestyle, and 9th in the 100 Freestyle. Elijah Patrick and Spencer Klinsky finished 12th and 20th respectively in the 200 Butterfly.
