Bronze Medal Club!

Benji DeMotte

Congratulations to our Swimmer, Coaches, Sponsors and Families- we are all officially a 2026 Bronze Medal team!

Club Excellence is one of a few different ranking systems for USA Swimming Clubs across the country. However, it is slightly unique in the way clubs are measure.

Here at Excel spend a lot of time focusing on two other metrics as well. USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship and Swimcloud.com's rankings are both measures that are used to gauge teams' accomplishments across all the age groups. In both of those measures, Excel has risen to the very top in the Southeastern Swimming LSC and is competitive nationally as well.

However, the Club Excellence scoring system only measures the very fastest swimmers, only in Long Course and usually, only over the summer months. It specifically focuses on those teams that are potentially feeding both the US National and Olympic teams. While Excel has earned Bronze and even Silver medals in the past, the competition for those medals has gotten incredibly more difficult over the past couple of years. In fact, this is our first medal in a decade and we have long been striving to achieve this.

The most exciting part of this award is how we got here. By using the other rankings, focusing on club growth and IM events, we have built a system that will keep feeding our own National team. While there is no way to predict the future, we are confident that we will be a medal contending team for years to come. Our trend over the last couple of years has been encouraging.

For the 2022 year, we scored 674 points.
In 2023, 716 points
In 2024 it jumped to 2,737.
Finally this past summer we scored an incredible 7,967.5 points which was ultimately what we needed to earn Bronze. What may be even more encouraging is that all of the swimmers that earned us these points still have two more seasons to go before the graduate!

So Congratulations again, the future looks very bright!
