Hey Sailfish Families!

Weekly Updates:

This weekend at the B Championship meet, we had 65 swimmers entered and learned lots of lessons on mental preparation and dealing with physical challenges like keeping muscles warm.

We also place 3rd out of the 14”North” teams. The top two have 3 indoor facilities each and are approximately 10 times and 3 times larger than our own team.

Thank you to our awesome parent timers who stepped up and volunteered. Also, a reminder that all the BB cuts made are eligible for entry into the STX (BB) championship meet.

Awards for this meet will be handed out at practice on Monday.

It may take a while!

Session 1 Saturday AM with the 10 and Under swimmers, it was cold behind the block, yet we still had 3 bonus entries turned into B cuts, 43 personal best times, and 11 BB cuts made.

Session 2 Saturday PM with the 13 and over swimmers, we had 3 bonus swims turned into B cuts, 19 personal best, and 6 BB cuts made.

Session 3 Sunday AM with the 10 and Under swimmers, it was much colder behind the block, yet we did a better job of warming up and staying warm, with 7 bonus entries turned into B cuts, 48 personal best times, and 10 BB cuts made!

Session 4 Sunday PM with the 13 and over swimmers, we had 3 bonus swims turned into B cuts, 28 personal best, and 10 BB cuts made.

The grand total for the meet is 16 bonus swims turned into B cuts, 138 personal best times, and 37 BB cuts! This was a very good practice meet for the High School swimmers getting mentally and physically ready for the district meet next week and for our younger swimmers learning how important paying attention and attending practice regularly pays off big time at a championship meet.

Practice & Upcoming Events:

There is regular practice this week. As soon as the sun goes down it gets colder on deck. Remember to dress warmly, bring a towel, and schedule a punctual pickup.

Resources:

- IMR & IMX Events are a great place to start if you are not sure which events to swim!

- The National Age Group Motivational Times are great goal targets to work toward!

Upcoming Activity:

Remember to register for seasonal meets early to ensure you get in and have time to prepare. Do not wait until the last minute! Reminder that for both the B and BB championship meets swimmers are automatically entered into those meets when they make the time standard. A and above meets are swimmer's choice.
