Swimming Goes Hollywood!

Be on the lookout March 23 for a major motion picture about swimming! Not only is it about swimming, but about USA Swimming coach Jimmy Ellis. The movie PRIDE is based on true events and tells the inspiring story of Ellis of the Philadelphia Department of Recreation. The movie is set in the 1970s and tells the story of Ellis who changed lives forever when he founded an African-American swim team in one of Philadelphia?s toughest neighborhoods. The film stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (Crash, Hustle & Flow), Bernie Mac (Ocean?s 11, Ocean?s 12) and Kimberly Elise (Diary of a Mad Black Woman). USA Swimming and Lionsgate have formed a partnership to promote the nation-wide release with promotions targeting USA Swimming members, private screenings in select markets, retail promotions and public relations activities.
